Durante bastantes años he
centrado mi ocio en la lectura, la pintura y, ocasionalmente, en ver películas
o series de televisión. Sólo de vez en cuando consultaba internet buscando noticias
e información específica, o realizaba listados y esquemas con herramientas
informáticas. Supongo que el haberme criado en una época analógica había hecho que dejara
de lado la mayor parte de los recursos que nos proporcionan los medios digitales, al
considerar mi curiosidad lo suficientemente satisfecha.
Mi mayor logro había sido
la creación de este Blog, el cual he ido alimentando básicamente con
comentarios de libros que había leído, los encuentros a los que había acudido o
las miniaturas que había pintado.
Pero en los últimos
tiempos he empezado a cambiar de mentalidad y ampliar la visión sobre la
afición. Empecé escuchando los podcasts de historia que la revista Desperta
Ferro colgaba en su página web, sobre las programas en que intervenían. Conforme
pasaba el tiempo descubrí que había canales en Youtube como Warhammer TV, TabletopMinions o Pete the Wargamer en los que se enseñaban técnicas de pintura,
trasfondo de juegos y filosofía del juego.
Lo que me llevó a buscar
más información. Poco a poco descubrí más podcasts, como La Voz de Horus, La Biblioteca de Tizca o Casus Belli. Y la renovación de mi tetéfono móvil me ha
abierto las posibilidades de las APPs, como la de Citadel o Wikiahammer.
Todo este proceso me ha
llevado varios meses, y todavía me estoy orientando. Pero me está ayudando a
salir del estancamiento al que había llegado hace unos años. Y el resultado se
puede ver en las páginas de este blog. Me he animado a meterme en miniaturas
más grandes, probar nuevas técnicas y reglamentos e interesarte todavía más por
el hobby.
For many years I’ve centered my free time with
reading, painting and, occasionally, watching movies or TV series. Only from
time to time I checked Internet looking for news and specific information, or
made lists and sketches with informatic tools. I suppose that having been brought
up in the analogic era had made me put aside most of the resources that the digital
media give us, as I considered my curiosity satisfied enough.
My biggest achievement had been the creation of
this blog, what I’ve been feeding basically with comments from the books that I
had read, the events that I had attended to and the miniatures that I had
painted.
But in the last times I’ve started to change my
mentality and widen my vision of the hobby. I started listening to the history
podcasts that the magazine Desperta Ferro attached to their website. As time
went by I discovered that there were channels in youtube as Warhammer TV,
Tabletop Minions or Pete the Wargamer that taught painting techniques, lore and
game philosophy.
That took me to look for more information. Step
by step I discovered more podcasts as La Voz de Horus, La Biblioteca de Tizca or
Casus Belli. And the renewal of my smartphone has opened me the possibilities
of the APPs, as the one from Citadel or Wikihammer.
All this process has taken some months, and I’m
still finding my way. But it’s helping me to get out of the stalemate that I
had arrived some years ago. And the result can be seen in the pages of this
blog. I’ve encouraged myself to try bigger miniatures, to try new techniques
and interest myself even more about the hobby.
