La semana pasada acabé de leer este libro del periodista
español Manuel Chaves Nogales. Escrito en 1941 justo después del Armisticio
francés de 1940 y de la huida de políticos y periodistas a Inglaterra, realiza
un análisis de la situación política francesa en los años previos a la Segunda
Guerra Mundial y cómo afectó a la voluntad de resistencia de los franceses ante
el avance de la Wehrmacht.
Escrito desde el conocimiento de primera mano del pueblo
francés y de su clase política, nos aporta una visión que no suele aparecer en
los libros de historia sobre este episodio de la guerra.
Siendo este el primer libro que he leído de este autor, me
han sorprendido gratamente la facilidad de prosa, la pasión puesta en la
escritura y el profundo análisis político y social que realiza el autor en un
volumen que apenas llega a las doscientas páginas.
Me ha dejado un buen sabor de boca, por lo que espero poder
leer más libros de este autor en el próximo futuro.
Last week I finished reading this book from the spanish journalist Manuel Chaves Nogales. Written in 1941 just after the 1940 french armistice and the flight of politicians and journalists to England, it makes an analysis of the french politic situation in the years preceding the World War II and how it affected the resistance Will of the french in front of the Wehrmacht advance.
Written from the first-hand knowledge of the french politics and people, un gives us a vision that doesn’t use to appear in the history books about this war chapter.
Being this the first book that I’ve read from this author, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the ease of prose, the passion put in the writing and the Deep political and social analysis that the author makes in this volume that barely arrive to two hundred pages.
It’s given me a good taste, so that I hope that I could read more books from this author in the next future.
