Poniatowski en Borodino / Poniatowski in Borodino

El pasado domingo estuvimos en el club RECS de Gavà jugando el ataque de Poniatowski a lo largo de la carretera vieja de Esmolensko a Moscú, en la batalla de Borodino. Es un encuentro a nivel de cuerpo de pequeñas dimensiones, perfectamente jugable en una mañana. Usamos el reglamento Age of Eagles 2, y aquí se puede encontrar el escenario:

Last Sunday we played in the RECS club in Gavà the Poniatowski's attack along the old road from Smolensko to Moscow, in the Borodino battle. It's a battle at a small corps level, perfectly playable in a morning. We used the Age of Eagles 2 ruleset, and here you can find the scenario.

Al final de la batalla el resultado fue histórico: el ejército ruso perdió el pueblo pero mantuvo el bloqueo en la colina, formando una línea defensiva y evitando el avance de Poniatowski. Una partida muy interesante, para empezar la temporada de juego. 

At the end the battle was accuratedly historical: the russian army lost the village but kept the block in the hill, forming a defensive line and avoiding the advance of Poniatowski. A really entertaining game, to start the gaming season.

Pintando rusos napoleónicos / Painting napoleonic russians

Un compañero del club RECS me ha propuesto jugar una parte del escenario de Borodino: el ataque de flanqueo de Poniatowski ( http://aoev2.blogspot.com.es/2014/01/el-ataque-de-poniatowski-en-borodino.html ). Así que me tras revisar mis tropas me dí cuenta que me faltaban las milicias. Dicho y hecho, me puse a revisar mi caja de miniaturas por pintar y encontré suficientes tropas como para hacerlas. Eran unas minis que había comprado de Capitan Games el año pasado, y que habían ido directas a la pila del plomo por pintar.

A mate from the RECS club has proposed me to play a part of the Borodino scenario;: the flank attack of Poniatowski  ( http://aoev2.blogspot.com.es/2014/01/el-ataque-de-poniatowski-en-borodino.html ). So that after reviewing my troops I noticed that I didn't have the militia. In that very moment I started to check my  box of miniatures to paint and found enough troops so as to make them. They were some minis that I had bought from Capitan games last year, and that had gone directly to the lead pile.

El primer problema que encontré fue el mal acabado de las figuras. Casi todas tenían excesos o faltas de material, lo que me extrañó porque años antes había comprado esas miniaturas (cuando eran Warmodelling) y no había tenido estos problemas.

The first drawback was the poor finish of the miniatures. Almost all had excess or lack of material, what was weird because some years before I had bought that miniatures (whe they were Warmodelling) and I hadn't had those problems.

Tras mucho limar y cortar, preparé suficientes figuras para pintar la brigada.

After much filing and cutting, I prepared enough miniatures to paint the brigade.

Un poquito de spray negro de Army painter rematado por negro de Vallejo a pincel dejaron las minis preparadas para pintar.

A bit of Army painter black spray finished off with some Vallejo black colour let the miniatures prepared to paint.

Primero, los abrigos. Empleé dos tonos base para darles un poco más de variedad.

Firstly, the coats. I used two base colours to give them a little more variation.

Después fui aplicando la base del resto de equipo (mosquetes, mochilas, correaje...).

After this I applied the base for the rest of the equipment (muskets, backpaks, straps...).
