invasión de Grecia por Darío, en el marco de la Primera guerra Médica. Narra
como el imperio Aqueménida se preparó para la invasión de Grecia con el
objetivo primordial de tomar Atenas, y como las ciudades griegas juntaron un
ejército que se enfrentó a los persas en las llanuras Maratón. El hecho de que el ejército persa se estuviera
retirando y tan solo fuera destruida una parte del mismo no resta importancia a
lo inyección de moral que significó para las ciudades griegas.
A lo largo del libro nos encontramos con excelentes mapas, ilustraciones y fotografías de piezas arqueológicas.
In this volume from the Campaign series of Osprey Publishing we find the beginning of the Darius invasion of Greece, during the First Greek-persian war. It narrates how the Achemeneid Empire prepared for the invasion with the primary objective of taking Athens, and how the greek cities assembled an army that faced the Persians in the plains of Marathon. The fact that the Persian army was retreating and only a part of the army was destroyed doesn’t mean the moral boost that it meant for the greek cities.
Along the book we can find excellent maps, illustrations and many photographs from archeological evidence.
