El hijo vengador / Avenging son

 Hace poco acabé de leer este libro escrito por Guy Haley que es el primer volumen de la saga Amanecer de fuego.

Esta es la historia de la Cruzada Indomitus, el esfuerzo combinado de todo el Imperio para reunificarse después de la aparición de la Cicatrix Maledictum y la 13ª Cruzada Negra.

El libro me ha parecido muy bueno y muy fácil de leer.

Aprovecha que es el primer libro de la saga para presentar una serie de tramas y personajes que nos acompañarán a lo largo de la misma.

Some time ago I finished reading this book written by Guy Haley that is the first volume of the Dawn of Fire saga.

This is the story of the Indomitus Crusade, the combined effort of the whole Empire to reunify after the aparrition of the Cicatrix Maledictum and the 13th Black Crusade.

I've found this book to be uite good and easy to read.

As this is the first book of the saga it presents a series of plots and characters that will accompany us along it.

Indomitus

Ya me he acabado de leer este libro escrito por Gav Thorpe y publicado en español por Ediciones Minotauro, en el que se narran las aventuras y desventuras de un grupo de Ultramarines enfrentados a una fuerza necrona con una misión muy particular.

Este libro se publicó originalmente junto con el lanzamiento de la 9ª edición de Warhammer 40K, y sirve como presentación de las facciones enfrentadas. Además, la mayor parte de los enfrentamientos se pueden reproducir con las miniaturas de la caja.

Sobre la historia, sirve para presentar y poner en contexto ambas facciones, dirigiéndose sobre todo a personas que acaban de iniciarse en el hobby. El estilo narrativo es sencillo y directo, tal y como suele hacer Gav Thorpe.

I’ve already finished this book written by Gav Thorpe and published in Spanish by Ediciones Minotauro, that narrates the adventures of a group of Ultramarines confronted with a Necron force with a very particular mission.

This book was published originally along with the launch of Warhammer 40K 9^th edition, and presents us with the confronted sides. Also, most of the fights can be reproduced with the miniatures from the box.

About the history, it presents and contextualizes both factions, mainly aiming at people who is starting with the hobby. The narrative style is simple and direct, as it’s usual with Gav Thorpe.

La Marca de Calth / Mark of Calth

Hace unos días he acabado de leer esta antología de siete relatos ambientada en la Herejía de Horus, escrita por autores como Guy Haley o Aaron Dembski Bowden.

En ella se narran historias sobre personajes que participaron en la campaña de Calth, tanto del lado de los Ultramarines como de los Portadores de la Palabra…e incluso algún Perpetuo

La calidad y el ritmo de las historias cambia, pero muestra la riqueza multifacetada del Universo Warhammer, por lo que creo que es muy recomendable.

Some days ago I’ve finished reading this anthology of seven stories placed in the Horus Heresy, written by authors like Guy Haley or Aaron Dembski Bowden.

It narrates histories from characters that participated in the Calth campaign, from the side of the Ultramarines or the Word Bearers…and even a Perpetual.

The quality and rhythm of the stories varies, but it shows the multifaceted richness of the Warhammer Universe, so that I think that it’s quite appealing.

The first Heretic / El primer hereje

Hace unos días he acabado de leer esta novela de Aaron Dembski-Bowden ambientada en la Herejía de Horus.

En ella se narra la transformación sufrida por la legión de los Portadores de la Palabra, vista desde la óptica de varios personajes como Lorgar, Argel Tal o Cyrene Valantion. Primarcas, custodes, marines, humanos y demonios se mezclan en esta interesante historia que arroja luz sobre el origen de la Herejía.

Considero que es un libro interesante y bien escrito, interesante de principio a fin. Completamente recomendable.

Some days ago I’ve finished Reading this novel from Aaron Dembski-Bowden, placed in the Horus Heresy.

It narrates the transformation suffered by the Legion of the Word Bearers seen from some the point of view of characters as Lorgar, Argel Tal or Cyrene Valantion. Primarchs, custodes, marines, humans and demons are mixed in this interesting history that explains the origin of the Heresy.

I consider that it’s an interesting  and well written book, from beginning to end. Completely recommended.
